Client terms
Last updated 31 October 2026
These terms apply when you ask Byvo to build a website, online shop, booking system, business system or app, or to provide SEO, Google Business Profile, advertising or related services. Please read them before you approve a quote.
1. About us and these terms
- Byvo is a trading name of Bilal Akhtar, a sole trader based at 1 Spinningfields, Manchester M3 3EB. "We", "us" and "our" mean Byvo. "You" means the business that asks us to provide services.
- Our services are for businesses. By approving a quote you confirm you are acting for the purposes of your business.
- Our agreement with you is made up of these terms and the quote we confirm with you in writing. Messages by WhatsApp or email count as "in writing".
2. Your free preview
- The free preview costs nothing and you are under no obligation to go ahead.
- We build it using information about your business that is publicly available or that you send us. If you would like anything removed, tell us and we will remove it.
- Until you have paid in full, the design and code we created belong to us. Please do not copy, publish or have them rebuilt elsewhere. Your own content, such as your photos, logo and text, always stays yours.
- If you decide not to go ahead, we will take the preview offline.
3. Quotes and prices
- Before you commit, we confirm in writing what is included and the price.
- The price of your website is a one-off payment. There is no monthly fee for the website itself.
- Anything outside the agreed quote, such as extra pages, new features or a later redesign, will be quoted separately and only done once you agree.
4. Payment
- When you are happy with the design and want to go ahead, you pay a deposit of 50% of the price. We start finishing your website once the deposit is received.
- The remaining 50% is due when your website goes live, payable within 7 days of our invoice.
- Payment is by bank transfer to the details on the invoice.
- The deposit secures your project and covers work we carry out after you approve the design, so it is non-refundable once that work has started.
- If the balance is not paid when due, we may suspend your website after giving you notice, until payment is made. We may also claim interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
5. Changes and approval
- You can ask for changes to your preview before you approve the design.
- After you pay the deposit, your price includes up to two rounds of changes before your website goes live. Further rounds will be quoted separately.
- If you find a mistake in our work within 30 days of going live, we will fix it free of charge.
- After your website goes live, changes and updates you ask for are quoted before we start. You can also ask about an edit panel so you can make simple changes yourself.
- Please send us the content we need, such as text, photos, logos and prices, promptly. If we are waiting on you for more than 60 days, we may put the project on hold.
6. Your content
- You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, everything you send us or ask us to use, including photos, logos, reviews and text, and that it is accurate and lawful.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your website, such as prices, qualifications and opening hours. We build from information you give us or approve.
- You give us permission to use your content to build and run the services you have asked for.
7. Domain and hosting
- We register your domain in your name, so you always own it. Domain registration and yearly renewal fees are set by the registrar and paid by you. We will tell you the cost before registering.
- We host your website free of charge while it is live with us.
- Hosting runs on third-party networks, so we cannot promise your website will be available at all times, but we will act promptly to fix anything within our control.
- If we ever stop offering free hosting, we will give you at least 60 days' notice and send you your website files so you can move them.
- Free hosting does not include paid third-party services, such as email inboxes, booking platforms or app store accounts. These are quoted separately.
- If you want to move your website elsewhere, or our agreement ends, we will send you your website files once all invoices are paid and keep hosting it for 30 days so you have time to move it.
8. Ownership
- Once you have paid in full, you own the design and content we created specifically for your website, and we will send you the files on request.
- We keep ownership of the general tools, code and methods we reuse across projects, and give you a permanent licence to use them as part of your website.
- We may show your website in our portfolio and on our social media unless you ask us not to.
- Third-party items such as fonts, stock images, plugins and booking platforms remain subject to their own licences.
9. SEO, Google and advertising
- We set up and optimise your website and listings to help you be found, but no one can guarantee search rankings, positions or results. These are controlled by Google and other platforms.
- Advertising spend is paid by you directly to the platform, such as Google, Meta or TikTok, and is separate from our fees. You remain responsible for your ad accounts and for making sure your adverts are accurate and lawful.
- Eligibility for Google Local Services Ads and the Google Guaranteed badge is decided by Google, including its own checks. We cannot guarantee approval.
- Ongoing SEO and ad management are separate services, with fees and notice periods agreed in writing.
10. Apps and business systems
- Apps and business systems are quoted separately, with the scope agreed in writing.
- App store developer accounts and fees are paid by you. Approval by Apple or Google is decided by them and cannot be guaranteed.
11. Data protection
- We each comply with UK data protection law.
- Where your website or systems collect your customers' personal information, for example through enquiry or booking forms, and we handle it for you, we act as your processor. We will:
- only use it on your documented instructions
- make sure anyone who handles it is bound by confidentiality
- keep it secure
- only use trusted providers, such as hosting companies, under written terms that protect it, and tell you if we add or change them so you can object
- help you respond to requests from your customers and meet your own security and data protection obligations
- tell you without undue delay if we become aware of a personal data breach affecting it
- delete or return it when our work ends, unless the law requires us to keep it
- give you the information you reasonably need to show these obligations are met
- You are responsible for having your own privacy notice for your customers. We can write one for you.
- How we use your own information is explained in our privacy notice.
12. Our liability
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
- We are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
- Our total liability to you for any project is limited to the amount you have paid us for that project.
- We are not responsible for problems caused by third-party services, or by changes made to your website by you or anyone else.
13. Cancelling
- You can cancel at any time by telling us in writing. If you cancel before paying the deposit, there is nothing to pay.
- If you cancel after paying the deposit, the deposit is non-refundable as it covers work already started. If the work we have done is worth more than the deposit, we will invoice the difference.
- We may end our agreement if you do not pay an invoice when due, or if you break these terms and do not put it right within 14 days of us asking.
14. General
- We may update these terms. The version in place when you approved your quote applies to that project.
- These terms and your confirmed quote are the whole agreement between us about the project.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.
- Only you and we have rights under this agreement. No one else can enforce it.
- If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest still applies.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
